Identifying the Faulty Breaker

A circuit breaker trips when it detects overcurrent, short circuits, or ground faults . Check the breaker that has switched to the "off" or middle position. Modern panels often label each breaker according to the circuit it protects, making identification easier .

Resetting the Breaker

  1. Move the breaker fully to the off position.
  2. Wait a few seconds.
  3. Flip it back to the on position. If it trips again immediately, there may be a persistent fault in the circuit, and further troubleshooting is required.

Replacing a Faulty Breaker

If the breaker is damaged or cannot reset:

  1. Ensure the main power is off.
