  • Draw-out and drawer-type cabinets must operate smoothly, with moving and stationary contacts aligned, and grounding contacts engaging before main contacts .

  • SPD wiring should be short, straight, and not exceed 0.5m, with grounding wires positioned away from outlets .

Layout, Safety, and Environmental Considerations

  • Cabinets should maintain proper safety clearances and be installed in dry, accessible areas with good ventilation.
  • Avoid placing cabinets under water pipes or directly beneath lighting fixtures.
  • Transformers, high-voltage equipment, and distribution devices must be installed firmly, with fasteners and anti-loosening parts complete. Insulation parts should be free of cracks or defects, and oil levels in oil-immersed transformers must be normal .

Compliance with Standards

  • Installations should comply with IEC TS 61936-0:2023 for high-voltage safety, ensuring protection of personnel, animals, and property .
  • National standards such as GB 50054 and directives like the Low Voltage Directive (50–1000V AC, 75–1500V DC) should be followed.
  • Use certified components (UL, CE) and maintain documentation for inspections and future maintenance .
