  3. Partial Power Delivery Some PDs may power on while others do not. This can result from port-specific issues, misconfigured power allocation, or error-disabled ports. Switches may detect PDs but fail to supply power if the port is administratively shut down or if the PoE command is not applied .

  • Port or Configuration Errors: Ports may be administratively disabled, error-disabled, or misconfigured, preventing power delivery .

  1. Check PoE Budget: Ensure the switch can supply sufficient power for all connected devices. Leave 20–30% headroom for safety .
  2. Verify Device Compatibility: Confirm PDs support the switch's PoE standard and mode.
