Huawei Router A1 supports fiber optic cables

Connect the fiber optic cable to the Huawei ONT, then link the ONT to your Huawei A1 router via the WAN/LAN port to establish internet access.

Step 1: Prepare Your Equipment

• Fiber optic cable: Usually yellow with SC/APC or SC/UPC connectors.

1. Use an Ethernet cable to connect the ONT's LAN port (often labeled PORT1 or LAN1) to the WAN port on your Huawei A1 router. If your router has self-adaptive ports, any port may work .
2. Power on the router and wait for the indicator lights to confirm a successful connection.

Step 4: Configure the Router

1. Connect your computer to the router via Wi-Fi or a second Ethernet cable.
2. Open a web browser and enter the router's default IP address (check the label on the router, usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
3. Follow the setup wizard to detect your internet access mode automatically. If the router cannot detect it, manually select DHCP and enter your ISP-provided credentials, including broadband account, password, and VLAN settings if required .
4. Create your Wi-Fi network name and password, then save the settings.

• Check that the router's internet indicator is solid.
