The traction net ensures the pulling force is evenly distributed and matches the pay-off tension, avoiding overstressing the cable .

  • Anti-Torsion Whip: A weighted device attached to the cable to prevent rotation during traction. It protects the optical fibers from torsion, degumming, or bird-caging phenomena, which can occur if the cable twists excessively .

  • Pre-Stranding Wire: Temporarily used to pre-tension the cable and adjust sag. It can be reused multiple times and helps maintain proper alignment and tension during installation .
